Missing several games due to prior commitments, Angelo Teng made up for lost time as he flexed his muscles to power Nutricare to a convincing 103-83 victory over Sunrise in the Chinoy Liga Season 2 at the Winterpine Basketball Court in Quezon City.
Teng produced 30 points as he proved to be unstoppable in towing Nutricare to its seventh win in eight games and putting his team in solo lead.
Nutricare now holds a half a game advantage over Omote and CW Home Depot, tied for second and third spots with 6-1 slates.
In beating Sunrise, Nutricare displayed balance production with Matthew Chiong, Ryan Nuyda, Drei Hatamosa and Jim Yonzon submitting double-digit scores.
Chiong tallied 15 points followed by Nuyda’s 14. Hatamos took a backseat in offense, but still added 12 and Yonzon chipped in 11 points and nine boards for Nutricare, which stamped its bench depth against Sunrise, Nutricare’s second unit completely outplayed its counterpart, 32-0.
Tramontina pulled off an upset win over Eco Energy, 90-82, as Lawrence Wu stepped up in offense once more.
Wu tallied 22 markers, including three triples as Tramontina picked up its third win to go back to .500 win-loss mark. Eco Energy absorbed its fourth loss in eight games.
Three othjer Tramontina players finished with 17 points apiece — Anthony Yang, Kyle Chua and Wesley Ang — while Jordan Buentipo took care of rebounding, grabbing 10 boards.
