Bosny banked on its unstoppable combo of Czar Alejandro and Kobe dela Cruz to hold off Camco, 70-62, even as Omote overpowered Tramontina, 95-52, on opening night of the Chinoy Liga Season 2 just recently at the Winterpine Basketball Court in Quezon City.
Alejandro knocked in 29 points, including four three-point shots, while also pulling down five boards and picking up three steals. Growing great guns as early as the first half, he set the tone for Bosny’s early breakaway as the team led 35-21 at the half and didn’t look back.
But Bosny also found somebody who complemented Alejandro’s explosive firepower with Dela Cruz’s firebrand of game.
The speedy Dela Cruz beat everybody on the footrace and ended up with 19 points, five rebounds and four steals.
Earlier, Omote displayed superb production from five players who wound up in double figures and barely broke out a sweat in beating Tramontina.
Mallechi Lim came away with 22 points followed by Chester Garcia’s 16 markers as Omote showed depth, generating 48 points from players coming off the bench.
Miko Cheng added 15, Matthew Ang flirted with a triple-double performance of 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists and Axel Cue completed a double-double showing of 10 points and 13 boards for Omote, which dominated its counterpart in rebounding, 53-36, as well as fastbreak points, 38-13.
