Good Fellow, St. Stephen barge way to Fil-Chi 40 and above cage tourney semis

Good Fellow Pharma and St. Stephen High School are headed to the semifinal round of the Fil-Chi Athletic Association Incorporated 40-and-above basketball tournament after posting contrasting victories over their respective rivals in the playoffs on Monday at the Filoil-EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

Albert Chua sizzled for 21 points, including five treys, four of those he hit in the first half that keyed an early breakaway for Good Fellow, which easily dispatched Chiang Kai Shek, 74-47, in their quarterfinal match.

Allan an backed up Chua with 20 markers as he duo provided the double barrel headache against Chang Kai Shek, which was led by Sean Co’s 17-point output.

Also winning was St. Stephen, which was powered by Christian Luanzon’s double-double game.

A member of the Alaska Aces’ champion team in 2007, Luanzon posted 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in a near one-man show for St. Stephen.

St. Stephen outrebounded its rival, 34-22, and that resulted to the team getting more second chance points, 14, which were 10 more than its counterpart.
