Cowboys shoot down Batang Quiapo; Warriors, Heatwaves win

A fiery performance right from the get go was all the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys needed in getting back on the winning track as they came out more offensive minded in shooting down the Batang Quiapo of Manila, 123-87, in the main game of the scheduled triple header of the MPBL 2025 Season at the Paco Arena on Monday night.

The Cowboys hit a steady 56.3% from the field, easily their most explosive game since joining the big league.

Their onslaught was led by Mark Dyke, who posed a double-double performance of 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Another player from Ilagan Isabela came away with a double-double game, Joshua Guiab, who had 13 points and 10 boards.

Homegrown Shan Bautista contributed 11 markers, while Andre Duremdes and Allen Mina had 10 apiece and Mark Anthony Marcos contributed nine in a display of more balanced firepower for the Cowboys, who went back to the .500 win-loss mark at 7-7.

Pangasinan and Gen San joined Ilagan Isabela on the winning track on Monday night after they dispatched their respective rivals.

The Heatwaves turned hot in the second half and routed the Marikina Shoemasters, 103-79,  while the Warriors whipped the Muntinlupa Cagers, 90-72.

Powered by homegrown Kriss Gurtiza, the Heatwaves pulled away in the third quarter, 70-51, and never looked back en route to their fourth straight win and a 9-4 record in the round-robin elimination phase of the 30-team tournament.

The 6-foot-2 Gurtiza, former star of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, posted 29 points, including three triples. he also pulled down seven rebounds in a solid showing for Pangasinan.
