Top Gun, HS New Breed lead Hotshots D-League winners

Top Gun banked on its one man show Jhelo Lumague, who knocked in 24 points, in powering his team top a tense 59-57 squeaker of Genesis in the 15-under division of the Hotshots Developmental League held recently at the Talayan Village Gym in Quezon City.

Lumague, who hit 10-of-15 shots from the field, capped his big game by pulling down 16 rebounds for a double-double performance for Top Gun.

But while Top Gun went through the proverbial eye of the needle, Chewsarap PACE had an easier time disposing of BTA Vanguards, 51-36.

Also winning were BLBA-ZK Bikes (10-under), Skilled Hoops (14-under), HS New Breed (12-under),  and Revilo Sports MBC (13-under).

BLBA-ZK Bikes turned to Thuird Libongco, who scored 15 of his team’s total output and powered his squad to a 26-19 victory over Skilled Hoops.

But Skilled Hoops bounced back strong as the elder squad defeated BLBA in a thrilling encounter, 33-31.

Ghian Natividad and Kurt Chan combined for 16 points for Skilled Hoops U-14.

HS New Breed dumped BLBA 12-under, 59-31, as Philip Ong posted a double-double performance of 21 points and 11 boards.

Revilo Sports MBC waylaid BLBA, 62-41, to complete the winners.
