Without a doubt, CW Home Depot is Chinoy Liga Season 2 champion.
CW Home Depot stamped its class and masterfully dominated its finals rival, Sunrise, in the championship round with a sound 89-82 triumph just recently at the Winterpine Basketball Court.
Five players led by Carl Yu finished in double figures for CW Home Depot, which dominated the match for the most part.
Yu finished with 14 points on top of four assists and a steal, but he got solid support from the rest of the team, which showed its bench depth in outplaying surprise finalist Sunrise.
CW Home Depot’s second unit produced 41 points, totally outplaying Sunrise’s bench, which could only get six.
Aside from Yu, other players who wound up with double-digit outputs were Gershom Montes, Art Andres, Sean Co and Mark Chan.
Montes contributed 13 points and four boards while Andres, who was also named Finals MVP, came away with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block. Co fell a rebound away from a double-double performance with 11 points and nine boards while Chan added 10 markers along with five rebounds for CW Home Depot, which also produced 54 points from the paint, 30 more than its counterpart.
CW Home Depot also generated more points coming off transition plays, 33, as against 22 for Sunrise.
Earlier, Omote demolished Nutricare, 92-68, as Mallechi Lim put on an excellent shooting display.
Lim preserved his best for last, knocking down 11 three-point shots, a season-high record, and finishing with 39 markers.
