On a night where his dad was celebrating a momentous evening, joining fellow PBA legends in a festive celebration of the league’s Golden Anniversary, Sean Ildefonso was having yet another big night in the MPBL 2025 Season as he pumped in a double-double performance to power his team, Abra, to a convincing 75-64 triumph over Basilan Friday at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Ildefonso came away with 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the second generation cager towed the Weavers to their sixth win in seven games.
Basilan absorbed its fifth loss in seven matches.
Earlier, Muntinlupa handed Bacolod a sound beating, 96-73.
With John Camtimbuhan at the firing lane, the Cagers dominated right from the get-go, posing leads by as many as 25, 96-71 to pick up its fourth win in a row. The 4-0 record was probably the best start for Muntinlupa since it emerged as runner-up to Batangas City Athletics during the inaugural staging of the league seven years ago.
Aside from Muntinlupa, other undefeated teams include tournament leader Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards (7-0) and the San Juan Knights (5-0).
Cantimbuhan notched 25 points, dished out five assists and picked up two steals.
