Just about a week after absorbing their first loss in the MPBL 2025 Season, reigning Southern Division champion Quezon Huskers bounced back strong and vented their ire on Quezon City, 79-66, on Tuesday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
The Huskers asserted their dominance in rebounding, flexing their muscles in collaring 50 boards, which were 16 more than their rivals. That also translated to more paints inside the shaded lane as Quezon outscored its counterpart, 30-16, while also produced 18 second-chance points compared to only three for Quezon City.
By getting back on the winning track, the Huskers moved just a game behind undefeated teams Nueva Ecija (6-0). Two more teams were left undefeated — San Juan (4-0) and Muntinlupa (3-0).
Also winning were Zamboanga and host team Pasay.
Zamboanga SiKat dumped Manila, 106-84, with former PBA player Roi Sumang erupting for 10 of his 23 points in the second quarter, that keyed his team’s breakaway against the Batang Quiapo.
Pasay posted a 91-83 triumph and kept Sarangani winless after seven games.
Leading the charge for the Voyagers was Laurenz Victoria, who submitted impressive numbers of 21 points, six rebounds and six assists.
