Forget Cameron Clark, here comes George King.
King, who played briefly in the National Basketball Association for the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks, is set to fly in on Wednesday from San Antonio, Texas.
Team owner Dioceldo Sy confirmed to Pinoystep.com this latest development.
“Si Cameron at the last minute biglang nagkaroon ng emergency sa family, so we had to rush the whole night (to find a replacement import). Ang sakit sa ulo,” wrote Sy via Messenger.
King, listed 6-foot-6, played only five games in the NBA in two separate seasons.
He saw action for the Suns for one game as he was coming off an injury during his time with Northern Arizona.
In the 2021-2022 season, he played four games with the Dallas Mavericks, but had one of the finest seasons of his career while seeing action for the Agua Caliente Clippers in the NBA G League the same season where he posted averages of 13.9 points in 13 games.
King is set to replace NBA veteran Ricky Ledo, who tweaked his ankle, according to Blackwater head coach Jeff Cariaso.
