Elasto Painters sweep Kadayawan tilt, get ready for coming PBA wars

This time, Rain or Shine left any doubt as it flexed its muscles on reigning UAAP champion La Salle on its way to sweeping the Kadayawan Invitation Tournament on Sunday at the USEP Gym in Davao City.

The Elasto Painters outplayed the Green Archers, 138-116, to serve notice of their title aspirations in the coming PBA season which begins less than a month from now.

On a day when the Elasto Painters signed up Caelan Tiongson, one of the three rookies enlisted by the team for the coming season, Rain or Shine was able to play with more cohesion.

Leading the charge for the Elasto Painters was Andrei Caracut, who finished with 21 points, eight assists and three steals and was chosen as Finals Most Valuable Player.

Earlier, Phoenix Fuel outlasted Converge, 87-81, to pocket third place.
