Steelworld outlasts Yobe, faces McDavid for JHBL crown

Steelworld flirted with disaster before pulling off a 67-64 win over Yobe to set up a best-of-three title showdown with McDavid in the Jersey Haven Basketball League at the 3rd Fitness Lab in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Mark Ong fell a rebound short of a double-double performance, but his timely baskets and hustle proved to be enough to help his team in overcoming a twice-to-win deficit to make it all the way to the championship round.

Ong finished with 14 points on top of nine rebounds, but he also picked up five steals and dished out five assists in another all-around performance.

Allan Tan came away with a double-double showing, finishing with 12 points and 10 boards, while Chester Chen contributed 12 markers for Steelworld, which survived a hot-shooting night from Enzo King, who tallied 22 markers and kept Yobe from rallying in the game.

Steelworld faces top team McDavid in the best-of-three showdown on Wednesday night right before the battle for third between Yobe and Black Vape.
