There’s no stopping McDavid from crashing the championship round of the Jersey Haven Basketball League.
On Wednesday night, McDavid flirted with disaster before pulling the rug from under a game Black Vape, 65-62, to secure the first finals berth at the Third Fitness Lab in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Mark Chan had a monster game, finishing with 21 points on top of 16 boards as McDavid became the first team to reach the championship round.
McDavid will have to wait for its finals opponent, this after Steel World forced a rubber match against semifinals rival Yobe following a convincing 72-58 triumph in the other semis match.
While Chan was solid on both ends of the court, Mike Yu provided the spark off the bench for McDavid as he led the way for his squad with 23 markers, most of them coming from fast break points.
McDavid scored a total of 15 fast break points, 10 more than its counterpart while Yu outscored the entire bench players of Black Vape, 23-4.
For Steel World, balance production became the name of the game as Mark Ong led a well-distributed scoring for his squad.
He flirted with a near triple-double performance as he finished with 15 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists in a brilliant all-around game that allowed Steel World to force a sudden death showdown.
Chester Chen and Allan Tan added 12 points apiece for Steel World.
