SGA-St. Benilde made its presence felt on the defensive end early to take the fight out of RCP Shawarma Shack, 73-64, in the PSL President’s Cup recently at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The Blazers held their rivals to just two field goals in the entire second period to rip the game apart.
By half time, the Blazers were comfortably ahead, 41-19, and their defense held RCP at bay even when the latter made a last-ditch effort to come back from as many as 22 points.
Overall, St. Benidle’s defense made RCP to bleed for its points.
The Demigods were held to a paltry 30% shooting from the field (19-of-63).
St. Benilde also showed its dominance in crashing the boards, 52-35, and such activity in getting those rebounds resulted to 17 second chance points, nine more than their rivals.
The Blazers were also active attacking the basket, scoring 44 points inside the paint, 24 more than their counterparts.
