Blazers too fast, too good against 1Munti in PSL

SGA-St. Benilde once again banked on youth and athleticism in claiming another victim in the PSL President’s Cup.

This time, the Blazers added 1Munti to the growing list following a convincing 97-74 triumph just recently at the Filoil-EcoOil Centre.

Seven players produced eight points or more for the Blazers, who outran and outgunned their counterparts.

The Blazers produced 25 points coming off fastbreaks as against only three for 1Munti.

Bench production was a key factor in St. Benilde’s win as well as it generated 46 points coming from its reserves, 25 more than its counterpart.

Leading the charge for the Blazers are newly-acquired players Ian Torres and Roger Ondoa, two players they picked up from NCRAA champion Immaculada Concepcion College.

Torres and Ondoa each tallied 15 markers.

The spitfire guard Torres also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out six assists to complete an all-around performance whike Ondoa had a perfect shooting from the field, hitting all his seven attempts as they towed the Blazers to their eighth win in 12 games.
