San Juan overpowered Novaliches, 85-62, to pick up its seventh win in the PSL President\u2019s Cup at the Filoil-EcoOil Centre late Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kings banked on their sold inside game and pounced on the interior to take the fight out of the Warriors with ex-PBA player Michael Calisaan leading the charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calisaan, who previously played for the Magnolia Hotshots last season, finished with 16 points and six boards, as his solid game inside the shaded lane enabled the Kings to produce 42 points in the interior, 14 more than their counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rebounding has also been one of the biggest advantages of San Juan in beating Novaliches as the Kings collared 49 boards as against 38 for the Warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That activity in getting those rebounds allowed the Kings to also produce 20 second chance points, 12 more than their rivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calisaan also drew a lot of help from the supporting cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team captain AC Soberano tallied 13 markers, while Mike Malonzo and Agem Miranda added 10 apiece as San Juan\u2019s firepower was in full display. The Kings got solid contributions from their bench, scoring 53 as against 24 from their counterparts, who absorbed their fifth loss in 10 games.
