The <\/span>Samahang<\/span> Basketbol<\/span> ng <\/span>Pilipinas<\/span> (SBP) proudly announces the election of its new Board of Trustees, following the ratification of the federation\u2019s new By-Laws during the National Congress held on May 9, 2025, and their subsequent approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/span><\/p>\n Under the updated governance structure, the SBP Board now consists of 17 seats, 13 of which were filled through an election among the federation\u2019s 34 Active Members to ensure broad sectoral representation across Philippine basketball.<\/span><\/p>\n Elected as sectoral representatives were:<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Paul Tristan <\/span>Laus<\/span>\u2013 North Luzon Representative<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002Atty. Cayabyab \u2013 Representatives from the Commercial and Professional Sector<\/span><\/p>\n In accordance with the SBP\u2019s By-Laws, the remaining four seats were filled by the Board to complete the full composition. Two co-opted members, Mr. Jacob Ang and Ms. <\/span>Chaye<\/span> Cabal-Revilla, were appointed by the President, while Ryan Reyes was named Player Representative, and Ms. Peachy Cheng Medina was selected as the interim 3×3 Representative pending the qualification of 3×3 member groups for active membership.<\/span><\/p>\n A noteworthy milestone of this election is that 10 of the 17 trustees are serving on the SBP Board as a Trustee for the first time, reflecting the federation\u2019s renewed commitment to new perspectives. The mix of experienced veterans and new faces ensures that Philippine basketball continues to grow with both continuity and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n The SBP also announced that Outgoing President Alfredo S.
