One stage. One championship.

Creamline owns this moment – or so it seems.

With 10 titles under their belt, including a sweep of the first three All-Filipino crowns and four straight championships since late 2023 that capped off a historic Grand Slam season, the Cool Smashers aren’t just familiar with this stage.

They own it.

Game 3 of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Finals unfolds at 7 tonight at the Philsports Arena in Pasig – Creamline’s second home, where the Cool Smashers thrive, dominate and dazzle.

This is where coach Sherwin Meneses draws from his deep playbook of brilliance. This is where the Cool Smashers, armed with experience and poise, look most dangerous.

But if history says Creamline always delivers in these winner-take-all situations, the Cool Smashers better do well to stay on full alert. Because the Petro Gazz Angels aren’t just here to fold – they’re here to finish.

Despite Thursday’s gut-wrenching fifth-set setback that forced this epic Game 3, the Angels remain unfazed. That defeat may have snapped their six-game win streak that began in the quarterfinals, but it didn’t shake their belief. This is a squad that clawed back from the brink of elimination, punched the first ticket to the Finals, and held Game 1 against the reigning champions.

They’ve beaten Creamline twice before. They know they can do it again.

Expect Petro Gazz to come out swinging. Brooke Van Sickle is likely to bring more heat than her 18-point outing last game. MJ Phillips will reestablish control in the middle. Myla Pablo and Jonah Sabete will aim to break through from the wings, providing firepower alongside Van Sickle and Phillips.

And don’t sleep on the Angels’ bench. They’ve been phenomenal all postseason, including Joy Dacoron, Aiza Pontillas, Marian Buitre, Nicole Tiamzon, Ranya Musa and skipper Remy Palma. Expect seasoned setters Chie Saet and Djanel Cheng to orchestrate a diverse, dynamic offense, keeping Creamline’s defense on its toes with every rotation.

But Creamline isn’t going quietly. The firepower of Bernadeth Pons, Jema Galanza and Tots Carlos, plus the middle might of Pangs Panaga and Bea de Leon, remains as deadly as ever. Then there’s the clutch depth – Michele Gumabao, Alyssa Valdez and Lorie Bernardo – all ready to rise to the moment.

Kyle Negrito has kept the team humming since the Jia Morado era, and coach Meneses can count on her to keep the plays crisp and steady.
One more wildcard? The fans.

The seventh man in this battle could swing momentum with every chant. Creamline’s legion of supporters is expected to pack the 10,000-seat Philsports Arena to the rafters, giving the Cool Smashers a thunderous edge. And while Game 2 drew over 11,000 at the Araneta Coliseum, tonight’s tighter venue will turn this into a cauldron of noise and nerves.

All signs point to a riveting, classic match. Game 1 was a thriller of a five-setter. Game 2 saw massive swings, dramatic rallies and pure grit. Expect Game 3 to be tighter, fiercer, tougher and far more intense. No side will blink. Not here. Not now.

Creamline has the pedigree. Petro Gazz has the hunger.

On Saturrday night , under the weight of history and the glare of destiny, only one gets to walk away with the crown.

One game.
