{"id":2001,"date":"2024-08-02T10:41:09","date_gmt":"2024-08-02T10:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pinoystep.com\/?p=2001"},"modified":"2024-08-02T10:41:09","modified_gmt":"2024-08-02T10:41:09","slug":"rotc-games-rtu-captures-four-arnis-golds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pinoystep.com\/index.php\/2024\/08\/02\/rotc-games-rtu-captures-four-arnis-golds\/","title":{"rendered":"ROTC Games: RTU\u00a0captures four arnis golds"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>INDANG, Cavite &#8212; Rizal Technological University made its presence felt\u00a0 by bagging four gold medals in arnis in the 2nd Philippine Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Games Luzon NCR Leg\u00a0 at the Cavite State University (CvSU).<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Winning gold medals for the Mandaluyong-based team are Bobbelle Abelis in the women&#8217;s featherweight, Ashley Joy Rico in the lightweight, Joana Erica Dela Cruz in the welterweight, and Ren Ren Reyes in the men&#8217;s welterweight in the Philippine Army bracket.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Philippine Merchant Marine Academy claimed three gold medals in the Navy unit from Eunice Bucalen in the women&#8217;s featherweight, Grace Lina Fuentes in the lightweight, and Isabela Beatrice Burac in the welterweight.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>In the Air Force division, the Philippine State College of Aeronautics and Tanauan Institute Inc. each won two gold medals.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Elsewhere, De La Salle University\u2019s Danielle Benjamina Cruz and Dexter Blinda Cruz finished\u00a0 1-2 in the shooting competition at the ARESCOM Camp Riego, De Dios in Tanza, Cavite.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Danielle Cruz finished with a total score of 272, ahead of\u00a0 Dexter Cruz, who had 267 and Ravin Destinee Ruaboro, who had 252.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>In taekwondo, Francis Agojo and Vincent Nebreja of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture stamped their class and captured the gold medal in Army.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Agojo bested Joshua Carl Alexis Umali of Quirino State University, who settled for silver, and Renville Jaye Maristela of Osmena Colleges and Mario D. Rigos of Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology, who wound up with the\u00a0 bronze.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Tarlac State University dominated the team event as they bagged the gold medal.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>In athletics,\u00a0 Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific took home the gold in the Navy &#8211; women&#8217;s 4&#215;400-meter relay with 5:16.4 against De La Salle University and Westmead International.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>La Salle settled for the silver with 5:18.3 while Westmead International\u00a0 took the bronze with 5:47.0.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Equally impressive was RTU, which pocketed the gold\u00a0 medal\u00a0 after clocking 4:24.9 in the women&#8217;s Army 4&#215;400-meter relay.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Don Honorio Ventura State University and Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, wound up\u00a0 with the silver and bronze, respectively.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Sharing the limelight are\u00a0 Fullbright College, which topped \u00a0 the Air Force-women 4&#215;400-meter relay with 5:41.0; Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa, which dominated the Air Force-Men\u00a0 with 3:46.2; and University of Baguio, which ruled the Army-Men\u00a0 with 3:44.7; and Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific, which won the Navy &#8211; Men with 3:55.9<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>In table tennis, Juliaca Sarroa and Joseph Saplala of Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific struck in the Navy mixed doubles.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>France Idjao and Joshua Cuarte of DLSU and Erica Bumagat and Tyron Jacinto of Northwestern University settled for the silver and bronze, respectively.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0Boxing action saw Vincent Paul Ferrer of Polytechnic University of the Philippines reign supreme in the bantamweight 51-54 kg\u00a0 against Holmes Tagary of NVSU-Bayombong and Kurt Manlapaz of Osmena Colleges and Paquito Lucban Jr. of Bestlink College of the Philippines.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Other boxing winners were Dean Jones Tagart of PLT College Inc. (Featherweight 54-57 kg), Juneire Sangalang of Tarlac State University (lightweight 57-60 kg), and Raffy Chagsan of University of Baguio (light welterweight 60-63.5 kg).<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>In chess, Vincent Bine of Olivarez College scored six points in Army men standard, and Ezekiel Marino of M.S. Enverga U.F. finished with 5 .5 points in Navy men standard.<\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Other winners in chess were Ralph Lawrence Soro Hornila of Kolehiyo-Lipa City, Jasmin Grace Beliber of Central Bicol S.
