Anton Eusebio came through with a breakout performance as Strong Group Athletics-St. Benilde posted a one-sided 95-73 win over Novaliches in the PSL President’s Cup just recently at the Filoil-EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Averaging only two points per game, Eusebio had a field day and finished with a career-high 20 points, including four three-point shots, as the Blazers notched their 12th win with still a game to play in the elimination round.
Four other players scored at least nine points for the Blazers, who won despite missing the services of several key members of their coaching staff, including Charles Tiu, team consultant Rajko Toroman and active assistant coach Paolo Layug.
Gab Cometa and Ian Torres each tallied 11 markers and Mark Sangco chipped in 10 for the Blazers, who drew a solid 61 points from players coming from their bench, 31 points more than their rivals.
Deo Timajo was the lone bright spot for the Warriors as he ended up with 30 points, but none among his teammates were able to produce in double figures.
