Mollet and Ricky Pineda of U/Tex. Chito and Joey Loyzaga of Ginebra. Jerry and Harmon Codiñera of Purefoods and Anthony and David Semerad of TNT.
These were some of the siblings who played together in one team in the history of the Philippine Basketball Association.
Count the Ganuelas-Rossers as the latest siblings that are going to play together for one team as Brandon will rejoin his elder brother, Matt, at the Tropang Giga.
This will be the first time both players are going to be on the same side since they both turned professional players and they’re now relishing the opportunity of finally being given the chance to join forces.
“I’m excited. It’s been a long time coming,” wrote the younger Ganuelas-Rosser in a Viber message to PINOYSTEP.COM.
Brandon never had an opportunity of playing on his brother’s teams as they were four years apart.
The top overall rookie pick of last season’s Rookie Draft could only watch Matt, especially when he was still playing for the national team and he would wait for the right opportunity of teaming up with him.
On Wednesday, the brothers can finally share the basketball court when the Tropang Giga battle Rain or Shine at the start of the Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Matt shares the same goal with his younger brother.
“This is definitely been part of me and Brandon’s career goals,” wrote Matt in a text message. “We didn’t know where, how or when it would happen. We just knew that it was definitely something we would strive for.”
“It’s an exciting for us and our family.”
Only in his second season in the PBA, Brandon will already play in his third squad after previous stints with Blackwater and NLEX.
At TNT, Brandon has an opportunity of becoming a winner.
His elder brother had already won six championships as a member of TNT and San Miguel Beer and Brandon wants to experience the feeling of holding a championship trophy.
“That’s all I want to do – win. I’m excited to be a part of TNT’s winning culture and playing alongside my brother.”
