Michael Calisaan stepped up big as San Juan asserted its dominance in the fourth period to whip Manila, 88-64, in the PSL President’s Cup just recently at the Filoil-EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Just a year removed from playing in the Philippine Basketball Association, Calisaan led the Kings’ rampage as he posted a double-double performance of 21 points and 10 rebounds, allowing San Juan to notch its 13th win in 14 games to stay in top two.
The Kings outshone the Stars in the fourth quarter, producing more points, 29-16, to turn a close game into a rout.
Backing up Calisaan is Pao Javillonar, who contributed 14 markers.
The Kins showed their dominance in rebounding, grabbing 55 rebounds, which were 25 more than their rivals.
Their activity in crashing the boards allowed the Kings to produce 31 second chance points, 21 more than the Stars.
The Stars absorbed their 11th loss in 15 games.
