After taking the backseat in Legs 3 and 4, TNT is back on the steering wheel by edging Meralco, 21-18, in the finals of Leg 5 and denying the Bolts of a possible grand slam in the PBA 3×3 Season 3 Third Conference at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
Behind Almond Vosotros, who knocked in seven points, including a jumper that all but sealed TNT’s win as the Triple Giga atoned from their previous setback against the Bolts team that denied them the opportunity of winning the first two legs.
Vosotros also got plenty of support from Ping Exciminiano, who contributed five, the debuting Xyrus Torres and Chester Saldua’s solid effort from both ends of the floor.
It was a sweet victory for the Triple Giga, who dedicated the victory to their fallen comrade, Samboy de Leon.
De Leon was sidelined by a knee injury last week and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
