PSL: Caranguian, Apreku inject energy on Kyusi

With six players finishing in double figures, there’s no way the Kyusi Pablo Escobets will let this one slip away.

Dahrell Caranguian led Kyusi’s balance production as he scattered 22 points while fueling the Pablo Escobets’ one-sided 114-79 win over a hapless Bicol team in the PSL President’s Cup at the Caloocan Sports Complex on Saturday.

A former Most Valuable Player in the NCRAA while playing for the De Ocampo Memorial College Cobras, Caranguain was the spark needed by the Pablo Escobets as he injected energy on the squad.

Five other players also tallied double figures for the Neil Parado-mentored squad – Andoy Estrella (14), Rich Guinitaran (13), Felix Apreku (12) and Pari Llagas (12) and Jomar Santos (11).

But Caranguian’s energy in the backcourt was complemented by an intense Apreku, who lorded it over in the battle of the boards.

Once the record-holder for the most number of rebounds in the MPBL. Apreku showed his knack for the ball as he pulled down 24 rebounds.
