Omote grabs solo lead; Tramontina survives Belle in Chinoy Liga Season 2

Powerhouse team Omote continued to stamp its class  by whipping Sunrise, 106-82, and gained solo leadership in Chinoy Liga Season 2 just recently at the Winterpine Covered Court.

With six players finishing in double figures, Omote picked up its third straight win in as many games.

Chester Garcia torched Sunrise’s defense by hitting five three-point shots on his way to ending up with 19 points, but he got superb contribution from the rest of the team, including a double-double game from Axell Cue, who ended up with 16 markers on top of 10 boards.

Josef Apostol added 12 markers, Erik Marcelo and Charles Benoza chipped in 11 points apiece, and Martin Uy contributed 10 points in a display of balance firepower from Omote, whose bench players outscored Sunrise, 50-38.

Omote also had more points coming off turnovers, 22-12, and also beat its rival in second-chance points, 24-14.

It was a dominant showing for Omote, which led from start to finish and took the fight out early on Sunrise when it raced to a 30-2 advantage and didn’t look back.

Tramontina upstaged Belle, 88-85, in overtime to as Anton Yang and Law Wu combined forces.

Yang produced 25 points and collared seven rebounds while Wu submitted 21 markers for Tramontina, which w0n despite getting clobbered in second-chance points by Belle, 27-5.
