PSL: Supremos stay unbeaten at home, repulse Stars  

Caloocan kept its winning streak at home, outlasting a game Manila side, 88-84, and bolstering its playoff chances in the PSL President’s Cup held late Thursday night at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Paul Sanga caught fire late, but his timely baskets lifted the Supremos to their ninth win in 11 games.

Sanga erupted for 26 points, built around six three-point shots, to lead the way for the Supremos.

The former player from the Philippine Basketball Association, however got plenty of help from the other members of Caloocan squad, which displayed balance production to weather an equally determined Manila squad.

Jessie Sumoda provided the spark coming off the bench as he contributed 13 markers on top of seven rebounds, while veteran Gabby Espinas likewise produced 13 points.

The rest of the Supremos were able to contribute in small but valuable ways  like Mac Baracael, Achie Iñigo and Damian Lasco.

Levi dela Cruz presided in offense for Manila, which absorbed its 10th loss in 14 games and found itself teetering on the brink of early elimination in this 19-team cast.
