With seven players scoring nine points or more, SGA-St. Benilde notched its third straight win in the PSL President’s Cup, this after the Blazers added NKT Sniper to their growing list of victims, 107-77, on Thursday night at the Filoil-EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
The Blazers shot an amazing 63% (45-of-71) from the field as they ran roughshod over a Snper team that remained winless in this tournament.
They scored 43 points coming off transition and their fast-pace game proved to be too much against the Sniper.
St. Benilde also hit 68 points from inside the shaded lane, 24 points more than their rivals, who simply couldn’t keep up with their run and gun style of play.
Leading the charge for the Blazers were Jhomel Ancheta and Gam Cometa, who both tallied 13 markers, followed by Mark Sangco and Angelo Vanguardia, each of them scoring 11 apiece.
Irele Galas contributed 10 while Paul Turco and Zenric Jarque had nine each for the Blazers, who improved their win-loss record to 5-2.
The loss was the 11th straight in as many games for NKT.
